Cairns Recycling is proud to support the local community by offering recycling locations throughout Cairns and beyond, including Smithfield, Portsmith, Mareeba, Edmonton, Gordonvale and Mackay. Our recycle centres are authorised collection points for the Containers for Change program which was introduced by the Queensland Government in 2018. The aim of the scheme is to reduce waste and street litter by recycling plastic, glass, aluminium and more.

Queensland residents have become more and more aware of the scheme over the last few years. It's a great way to reduce environmental impacts and earn a little pocket money at the same time. At any of our recycle centres, people are able to return empty, eligible drink containers and receive a 10-cent refund per container. They can receive payment to their bank account or PayPal via their scheme ID, or choose to donate their refund to their favourite charity. Learn more about how it works today.
